Round Lab

Birch Moisturizing Soothing Gel

For overheated, sun-stressed skin needing cool hydration.

The cooling water-jelly member of the Round Lab Birch line, built around silver birch sap harvested in spring from trees in Inje, a mountainous county in the northeast of Korea. The sap is collected before the leaves emerge, by making a small hole in the trunk and letting the white sap flow, and it arrives naturally rich in the same natural moisturising factors your skin produces for itself. Amino acids, lactic acid, PCA, and hyaluronic acid. At 520,000ppm, it makes up more than half the formula, delivering 17 amino acids alongside minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins.

Around the birch sap, Round Lab has built a patented Soothing Cooler complex from five plant extracts (aloe, kelp, viola flower, elm root, and Japanese yam root) that draws heat out of the skin. Vita Hyaluronic Acid forms a moisture defence barrier to seal everything in, and glyceryl glucoside supports the water-retention channels that keep dehydrated, reactive skin comfortable for longer. The texture is a genuinely non-sticky water jelly that sinks in fast, which is what makes it work as well post-sun or after a day in a mask as it does as a daily moisturiser. Vegan, reef safe, and free from harsh alcohols, common allergens, oils, parabens, silicones, and sulfates.

Key Ingredients
Silver Birch Sap (Betula Platyphylla Japonica Juice, 520,000ppm) Spring-harvested sap from silver birch trees in Inje, Korea. Naturally rich in 17 amino acids, minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins, plus the same natural moisturising factors the skin produces for itself. Patented Soothing Cooler Complex (Aloe, Kelp, Viola Flower, Elm Root, Japanese Yam Root) A five-extract botanical blend that draws heat out of the skin while supporting moisture care. The reason the cooling effect lasts beyond the first few seconds. Vita Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium Hyaluronate and Hyaluronic Acid) A dual hyaluronic acid system that forms a moisture defence barrier on the surface of the skin, sealing hydration in rather than letting it evaporate. Glyceryl Glucoside A humectant with long-lasting water-retention capacity, particularly effective for dehydrated, stressed, and reactive skin. Turmeric Root Extract and Ascorbic Acid An antioxidant pair that supports skin radiance and protects against environmental stress alongside the hydration work.
How to Use
After toner and serum, take an appropriate amount and smooth across the face until absorbed. Use morning and evening. For sun-exposed or overheated skin, apply a thicker layer and let it settle without rubbing in. Can be used on the body as well as the face. Layer a richer cream on top if your skin is very dry, particularly in winter. Tip: This is at its most useful in the moments your skin runs hot rather than simply dry. After sun exposure, after a long day in a mask, after exercise, or during a flare of reactive redness. Keep it in the fridge through summer to amplify the cooling effect. If your skin is dry rather than heat-stressed, use it as a hydrating layer underneath the Birch Juice Moisturizing Cream instead of on its own.
